Case Summary: Defendants allegedly engaged in a conspiracy to raise and fix the prices of CRT products for a period several years, and as a consequence purchasers of CRT products were overcharged. Defendants deny these claims. In total, there are nine settlements totaling $576,750,000. Of these nine settlements, the Court must still decide whether to approve two of the settlements. The settling defendants are Chungwa, LG, Panasonic, Hitachi, Toshiba, Samsung, SDI, Thomson and TDA Defendants.
Settlement Class Members: All persons or entities who, from March 1, 1995 to November 25, 2007, purchased CRT products, for their own use and not for resale, from an entity other than Defendants in AZ, CA, FL, HI, IA, KS, ME, MI, MN, MS, NE, NM, NY, NC, ND, SD, TN, VT, WV, WI, and the District of Columbia. The class periods for Hawaii, Nebraska and Nevada begin later than the class periods for the other states.
CRT Products: CRT products are items such as color display tubes, color picture tubes and monochrome display tubes, which were commonly, used in televisions and computer monitors.
Indirect Purchaser: An “Indirect” purchaser of a CRT Product is someone who did not buy the CRT Product directly from any Defendant.
